Buddhist Methods of Learning Management to Develop Academic Achievement
Main Article Content
Abstract
This academic article aims to study and analyze Buddhist approaches to learning management to systematically improve students' academic achievement. The study found that an effective Buddhist learning approach is experiential learning, which focuses on the process of activities and hands-on practice (active learning) to foster intellectual development in students. This process comprises four interconnected main steps These include (1) the step of asking questions to lead to the lesson in order to create faith and stimulate interest, (2) the step of analyzing knowledge and preparing for learning through critical thinking, (3) the step of creating practical wisdom according to the teaching activities, which is the integration of the Threefold Training principles into practice in the classroom, and (4) the step of summarizing the approach to solving problems to create clarity in applying the knowledge critically. Furthermore, the article presents the integration of Buddhist principles into teaching, such as the Seven Virtues of a Good Person, to adapt teaching methods to the learners' context and the role of the teacher as a facilitator and supporter of learning. Synthesizing the research findings, it was found that this learning approach can be used to inform educational policies focused on holistic student development. It also serves as a model for teachers to develop lesson plans that emphasize problem-solving and analytical thinking, thereby enhancing student academic achievement and equipping them with life skills in accordance with Buddhist principles.
