Abstract

The doctoral dissertation entitled “An analytical study of lifestyle controlling Paradigm in the Brahmajālasutta” consists of three objectives : (1) To study the conceptual components of the paradigm in the Brahmajālasutta (2) To synthesize the conceptual framework and components of the lifestyle controlling paradigm in the Brahmajālasutta and (3) To analytically study the lifestyle controlling paradigm in the Brahmajālasutta. This is a qualitative research conducted by studying the Tipiṭaka, books, and related research documents, presented in a descriptive analysis format. The research findings were found that; Paradigmatic components : The paradigm focuses on shifting the perspective from wrong view to right view.It demonstrates that the sixty-two types of views arise from a lack of insight into the advantages and disadvantages of sensory contact leading to attachment to the past, future, and present aggregates as having a permanent self.The Brahmajālasutta emphasizes the use of wisdom based on Dependent origination to eradicate wrong view, with the Three levels of morality serving as the essential foundation for a correct lifestyle.Synthesis of the conceptual framework. View serves as the foundation for beliefs that impact lifestyle both positively and negatively. A mind wrongly directed leads to significant harm. Conversely,with right view as the foundation and a mind rightly directed, it becomes the causal factor for the arising of other wholesome states. Synthesis of the conceptual framework.
