THE MODEL OF EFFECTIVENESS OF LEARNING AND TEACHING ENGLISH AT MAHAVAJIRALONGKORN BUDDHIST COLLEGE

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to study the effectiveness models of learning and teaching english at Mahavajiralongkorn Buddhist College and to approve the most effective model of learning and teaching english at Mahavajiralongkorn Buddhist College. The research is a qualitative research using structural and purposive interview of 25 administrators, vice administrators, teachers, and students and using analysis and synthesis for the conclusion and results of the study.


The findings indicated that :


  1. The 5 models of learning and teaching english are effective but there are dominant points and weak points. So when we apply these models, We have to consider the context of the school, teachers, and students appropriately, the effective models of (1) Communicative language teaching (2) Integrate learning (3) Project Based Learning (4) Content-Based Instruction Curriculum and (5) Language for specific purpose, respectively.

  2. The most effective model is the communicative language teaching, because it is completed of four skills-listening, speaking, reading and writing.
