The project-based learning in thai music theory subject for the first year student in undergraduate level of the loPburi college of dramatic arts

Abstract
The objectives of the research were: 1) to study learning achievement in Thai Music Theory subject for the first year student in undergraduate level; 2) to study the project-based learning ability of carrying out project in Thai Music Theory subject for the first year student in undergraduate level; and 3) to study the opinions of the first year student in undergraduate level toward project-based learning. This study was an experimental research with one-group pretest-posttest design. The test group consisted of 15 the first year student in undergraduate level who was enrolled in Thai Music Theory subject, the first semester of academic year 2020 of the Lopburi College of Dramatic Arts by using purposive sampling. The research instruments used for this study were: course specification in Thai Music Theory subject, project-based learning ability in Thai Music Theory subject evaluation form, learning achievements test in Thai Music Theory subject and students’ opinions questionnaires toward the project-based learning in Thai Music Theory subject. The collected data were analyzed by means of arithmetic means, percentage, standard deviation and t-test.
The research findings were as follows:
- The learning achievement scores in post-test in Thai Music Theory subject for the first year student in undergraduate level were significantly higher than pre-test scores at .05 level.
- project-based learning ability in Thai Music Theory subject for the first year student in undergraduate level in overall were at moderate level.
- The opinions of the first year student in undergraduate level toward the project-based learning approach were at a strongly agree level.
