A LESSON LEARNED IN THE DEVELOPMENTAL PROCESS OF MORAL MODEL SCHOOLS IN THE DIAMOND LEVEL : A CASE STUDY OF PROJECT “NONTHABURI MORAL SCHOOLS ON THE HONOR OF THE KING” PROJECT

Abstract

This study was qualitative research 1) to the lesson learned in the developmental process of moral model school in the diamond level : a case study of “Nonthaburi moral schools on the honor of the king” project, 2) to use the effect  from the lesson learned as database to set standards and indicators for driving the development of moral schools under Nonthaburi Provincial Education Office. The twelve informants in the research were purposive random from four groups : 1) school directors and deputy school directors, 2) teachers who were responsible for moral school project, 3) teachers of Social Studies, and 4) teachers who driven the moral school project. Data was collected by document synthesis, unstructured interview, small group meeting, Data was analyzed using inductive conclusion method, Summarize the main points and group them according to the corresponding or different topics.

The results were found that :

The developmental process of moral model school in the diamond level consisted of six steps; 1) building awareness and perception, 2) training master teachers and students, 3) defining moral identity, 4) determining the way to attain virtuous identity, 5) action to achieve the goal, and 6) building a driving mechanism for standards and indicators to drive the development of moral schools of the Nonthaburi Provincial Education Office, namely : process, productivity and outcome standards were as follows : 1. process : 1) there was a process for developing morality and ethics throughout the school, 2) there is a working group mechanism, 3) use the moral project as a tool,    4) everyone participates in the action. 2. productivity : 1) increased desirable behavior, 2) decreased undesirable behavior, 3) participatory process. 3. outcomes were 1) knowledge/ innovation, 2) integration in the classroom and 3) being a moral school's learning resource.
