GUIDELINES FOR DEVELOPING THE ADMINISTRATOR’S CHARACTERISTICS UNDER LOPBURI PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 2

Abstract
The objective of this research were to 1)study the current and desirable conditions of the characteristics of the school administrators of the Educational under Lopburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, 2) to analyze the needs of the characteristics of school administrators of the under Lopburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 and 3) propose guidelines to develop school administrators’ characteristics under Lopburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 2. The 306 samples of school administrators and teachers under Lopburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 were calculated by using Yamane’s formula and selected by using stratified random sampling method. The proportion of school administrators per teachers was 30 :70 percent. The research instrument consisted of the current condition questionnaire with a reliability value of 0.980, the desirable conditions questionnaire with a reliability value of 0.975, and group discussion meeting format. The data were analyzed by using percentage, average, standard deviation, PNImodified and content analysis together with narrative writing.
The results showed that :
(1) The current conditions and desirable conditions of the characteristics of the school administrators under Lopburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 were rated at high and the highest level, respectively.
(2) Considering to the needs for developing the characteristics of the school administrators under Lopburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, The first is to encourage risk-taking. The second is to empower teachers and cultivate leadership skills, and Third is understanding the importance of building community.
(3) Three Characteristics which had procedures and processes could be applied as a guideline for developing the Characteristics of the school administrators of the under Lopburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 2.
