Guidelines for development of Executive Characteristics in the 21st Century According to the Four Principles of Idthipada of Opportunity Expansion Schools under the Office of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area 2

Abstract

The objectives of the research are as follows: 1) to study the state of characteristics in the 21^st century of executives in Opportunity Expansion Schools under the Office of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area 2, 2) to study the development methods of characteristics in the 21^st century according to the 4 principles of Iddhipada of executives in Opportunity Expansion Schools under the Office of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area 2, and 3) to propose the guidelines for development of characteristics in the 21^st century according to the 4 principles of Iddhipada of executives in Opportunity Expansion Schools under the Office of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area 2. The mixed research methods were used in the study. The quantitative data were collected by questionnaires from 45 samples from Opportunity Expansion Schools under the Office of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area 2 and analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The qualitative data were collected by in-depth interviews with 5 key-informants and then analyzed by content analysis.

The results of the study showed that:

1. The state of characteristics in the 21^st century of executives in Opportunity Expansion Schools under the Office of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area 2 in 4 aspects was at a high level. In details by descending order, the highest level was on human relations, followed by desirable leadership, creative thinking and innovation, work relation, and vision respectively.
2. The development methods of characteristics in the 21^st century according to the 4 principles of Iddhipada of executives in Opportunity Expansion Schools under the Office of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area2 obtained from in-depth interviews with school executives indicate that effectiveness and achievement of school management depend on capability of the school executives because the school executives can seek cooperation from personnel the best.
3. The guidelines for development of characteristics in the 21^st century according to the 4 principles of Iddhipada of executives in Opportunity Expansion Schools under the Office of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Primary Educational Service Area 2 consist of: 1) Development of executive characteristics, the school executives are significant to educational management system, effectiveness of management and success of operation. 2) Vision, the executives with vision can expect, stimulate, convince, and persuade personnel to follow the organization vision. 3) Characteristic development of participative leaders consists of: (1) Co-target and objective setting, (2) Bondage, (3) Work freedom, and (4) Trust. 4) Characteristic development of executives in innovative management and administration, the executives have to strive for building innovations, building work environment and atmosphere, and be responsible for mistakes or failures of the work.
