Development of Life Skills Test for Learning Disabilities Students

Abstract
The purposes of this research were 1) to construct a test to measure life-skill for learning disabilities students and 2) to construct norms used to interpret the test scores. The samples consisted of 350 learning disabilities students aged between 10 to 15 years old from the inclusive classrooms at the compulsory educational schools under the Office of Mukdahan Primary Educational Service Area, in the second semester of the academic year 2017, selected by multi-stage random sampling. There were two research instruments were developed in this study. The first one was 5 rating scales, questionnaire. The second one was a situational assessment. The statistics used were Pearson Correlation Coefficient (PCC), Cronbach’s Alpha Coefficient (CAC), and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA).
The research findings were as follows:
1. According to the construct of the life-skill assessments for learning disabilities students, the results indicated that the content validity of the assessments showed the Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) at the range from 0.60 to 1.00.The discrimination of each item of the first and the second assessments ranged from 0.244 to 0.833 and from 0.226 to 0.690, respectively. The reliability coefficient of the overall of the two assessments were at 0.952 and 0.950 respectively. According to the analysis of the construct validity of the assessments, the four aspects of the assessment model were harmonized with the empirical data, the chi-square value 745.336, 210.246, 420.344, and 914.426 respectively, the degree of freedom at 104, 44, 65, and 119, the probability of all aspects are 0, the Goodness of Fit indices (GFI) were 0.790, 0.904, 0.854, and 0.762 respectively, the Adjust Goodness of Fit Index (AGFI) were 0.725, 0.856, 0.796, and 0.693 respectively, the Root Mean Squared Residual (RMR) were 0.066, 0.056, 0.065, and 0.081, respectively.
