Study of the Development of English Listening-Speaking Ability of the 4th Grade Students Using Communicative Language Teaching with Songs and Games

The purposes of this research were to (1) study the effectiveness of English language learning activities using communicative language teaching with songs and games (2) study English listening and speaking skill development of the grade 4 students after receiving learning activities using communicative language teaching with songs and games. The population was studied by 41 students in Grade 4 at Saimunpracharaj School in the first semester of the 2020 academic year. The research instruments included an English language learning plan using communicative language teaching with songs and games and the English listening-speaking ability test. The statistics used to analyze the data were mean, standard deviation. The hypothesis was tested by finding the efficiency of teaching and learning activities in English, using communicative language teaching with songs and games with the E1/E2 efficiency finding formula and finding the development value with the relative change formula.
The research findings were as follows:
1. The efficiency value of the English language teaching activities using communicative language teaching with songs and games was 80.17/83.25, which was higher than the set criteria of 80/80.
2. The lowest relative development score was at percentage 6.67 and the highest at 100. The mean relative development score was 68.88 and standard deviation was 28.76.
