The School-based Management Model for Small Size Schools in the Upper Northern Region under the Office of the Basic Education Commission

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the school-based management conditions and problems of the school administrators and to create the school-based management model for small size schools. The methodology was divided into 2 phases; In first phase, the study of the school-based management conditions and problems and the creation of the school-based management model, the data of this phase were collected from 969 samples which were the was divided into 2 parts which were the creation and preparation of the manual for the school-based managemen, that based on the opinion of 11 experts. The research tools were the evaluation administrators, teachers and the basic educational school committee from small size schools in upper northern region. In second phase, the creation of the school-based management model form of the model. The statistics used for analyzing data were mean and standard deviation. It was found that the school-based management condition was in high level and the school-based management problem was in medium level. Moreover, the using of the school-based management model shown that the model consisted of 7 components; objectives, theory, strategy system and mechanism, process/activity, evaluation and successive condition. The quality of the standard of the model was in high level.
