Abstract

ABSTRACT

              The study aimed to develop English skills through the communicative language teaching of English daily life (CLT) technique based on the efficiency criteria of 80/80, to compare the students’ English skill achievement before and after learning through the CLT technique and to investigate the students’ satisfaction towards the CLT technique. The sample consisted of 14 students studying in Prathom Suksa 5 at Pakjabwittaya School, under the Office of Chaiyaphum Primary Educational Service Area 3, gained by cluster sampling. The curriculums were five units through the CLT technique, an achievement test of English skill with 40 items, and a satisfaction questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by using percentages, mean, standard deviation, and t-test (dependent sample).

The research findings were as follows:

  1. The Development of an Enrichment English Skill Curriculum by Communicative Language Teaching of English Daily Life for Prathom Suksa 5 Students had efficiency values of 81.21/81.61, which met the determined criteria of 80/80.
  2. The students’ English skill achievement before and after learning through the CLT technique was significantly higher than that before learning at the level of .01.

            3. The student's satisfaction towards the enrichment English skill Curriculum by communicative language teaching of English daily life was at a higher level.
