DEVELOPMENT OF A DISTANCE LEARNING PACKAGEON ASSESSMENT AND LEARNING OF YOUNG CHILDREN FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHERS IN SCHOOLS IN BANGKOK AND VICINITY

Abstract

          The purposes of this research were (1) to develop a distance training package on assessment and learning of young children for early childhood teachers in schools in Bangkok and Vicinity based on the 80/80 efficient criterion (2) to study the learning process of early childhood teachers using the distance training package and (3) to evaluate the satisfaction of early childhood teachers using the distance training package on assessment and learning of young children. The research sample was 70 early childhood teachers whom taught young children aged 3-5 years in schools in Bangkok and Vicinity. The employed research instruments were (1) the distance training package on assessment and learning of young children for early childhood teachers (2) a learning achievement test to assess knowledge and understanding of early childhood teachers on assessment and learning of young children and (3) a questionnaire on early childhood teachers’ satisfaction toward the distance training package on assessment and learning of young children. Data were analyzed using the E1/E2 efficiency index, mean, standard deviation, t-test.
          The research findings revealed that (1) the distance training package on assessment and learning of young children for early childhood teachers was efficient based on the set 80/80 efficiency criterion.(2) the learning process of the teachers who used the training package on assessment and learning of young children was significantly increased at the .05 level and (3) the satisfaction of the teachers toward the distance training package were at the positively high level on the content helped in understanding about assessment and learning of young children, the content was useful and applicable in a real situation.
