ENGLISH LEARNING STYLES OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS, VALAYA ALONGKORN RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY UNDER THE ROYAL PATRONAGE, PATHUM THANI PROVINCE

The objectives of this research were to 1) study English learning styles of undergraduate students, Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under The Royal Patronage, Pathum Thani Province 2) compare English learning styles of students of Humanities and Social Sciences Group and Science and Technology Group. The sample group consisted of 312 first-year students who enrolled in VLE 101 course (College English Skills Preparation), and selected by simple random sampling method. The research instrument was Perceptual Learning Style Preference Questionnaire (PLSPQ) which the confidence’s level was 0.949. The statistics for data analysis were percentage, mean and standard deviation.
The results of study showed that the two major perceptual learning styles of Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under The Royal Patronage Students were Audio Learning Style ( = 3.90, S.D. = 0.21) and Group Learning Style ( = 3.90, S.D. = 0.12). The minor perceptual learning style was Kinesthetic Learning Style ( = 3.86, S.D. = 0.20). The least preferred perceptual learning style was Individual Learning Style ( = 3.55, S.D. = 0.21).
It also found that there was no significant difference between the learning styles of students of Humanity and Social Sciences Group and Sciences and Technology Group.
