Participation in improving the quality of village water supply Klongnamsai Sub-district, Aranyaprathet District, Srakaew Province

Abstract

           The purpose of this research were to: 1) study factors relating to the people’s participation in improving the quality of village water supply at Klongnamsai Sub-district, Aranyaprathet District, Srakaew Province, 2) Compare level of participation of people in improving the quality of village water supply. The research population were 103 households. Selected by using of Krejcie and Morgan, with the confidence at 95%. The research tools used in the study was questionnaire and semi-structured interview guideline. Data were analyzed by Percentage, Mean, Standard deviation and One-way ANOVA significance at .05.

               The results of the study had shown that the majority of people were women 61.17 percent; their age were between 51 years old and above. Also, they graduated the primary school. Farmers/Contractors’ income were over 15,001 baht per month. The participants did not improve the water quality before their consumption 95 people 92.23 percent. The personal factors had compare to the participants’ participation in improving the quality of village water supply; gender, age, education, occupation and income there were no statistically significant. And the participation’s level in improving the quality of village water supply were rather high, The most average of the participation was the activity participation, followed by the monitor and evaluation, and the beneficiary and decisions respectively. This research study; The findings suggest that good preliminary data can be used to plans for improving the quality of village water supply. In the household and local agencies. By community is involved in the recognition process to the development quality of life.
