ADMINISTRATION ACCORDING TO PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS PERFORMANCE OF THE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS UNDER THE PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE, SARABURI PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aims 1) to study the level administration according to the professional standards for the performance of the school administrators under the Primary Educational Service Area Office, Saraburi Province, 2) to compare the administration according to the professional standards for the performance of the school administrators under the Primary Educational Service Area Office, Saraburi Province, classified by school size, gender, and length of tenure; and 3) to find guidelines for management development according to professional standards for the performance of the school administrators under the Primary Educational Service Area office, Saraburi Province. Samples used in this research were 103 administrators under the Primary Educational Service Area Office, Saraburi Province which were obtained by finding the sample size using the formula of Yamane. The research instruments were a 5-level rating scale questionnaire with a reliability of 0.85 and an in-depth interview questionnaire. The data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA and a double difference test were analyzed by Scheffe's test and summarizing the essence from the in-depth interview by content analysis.
The findings revealed that:
1. The overall performance of the school administrators under the Primary Educational Service Area Office, Saraburi Province was at a high level, when considered by each aspect, the average was at the highest level in 4 areas: Behaving as a good example, leading and building leaders, development of organizational plans for action, decision-making activities, taking into account the impact on the development of people, learners, and communities. While the other areas were average at a high level, including cooperation with communities and other organizations constructively, creating opportunities for development in all situations, determining to develop colleagues to be able to perform their work to their full potential, seeking and using information for development, the development of the use of management innovation until the result of higher quality work, respectively, the reporting of systematic educational quality development results, organizational performance with a focus on permanent results and academic activity practice about the development of the educational institution administration profession.
2. There were statistically significant differences at the level of .01 in the administration according to the professional standards for the performance of the school administrators under the Primary Educational Service Area Office, Saraburi Province, according to the school size gender and length of tenure. When considering the school size, the large school administrators performed statistically different from the medium and small school administrators at the level of .05. School administrators with different genders performed similarly, While administrators of large schools and medium schools and small schools had a statistically significant difference in performance at the .05 level.
3. Guidelines for the development of the administration according to the professional standards for the performance of the school administrators under the Primary Educational Service Area Office, Saraburi Province: To be a team leader, creativity, risk management leadership and focus on the achievement of the work to make the school a new school.
