THE EFFECTS OF CREATIVE DRAMA ACTIVITIES ON SOCIAL AWARENESS OF YOUNG CHILDREN

The purpose of this study was to investigate the social awareness of young children who participated in creative drama activities. The subjects used samples in the study was the 30 boys and girls, which was purposive sampling, aged between 5 - 6 years old. They were studying in the kindergarten level 3, second semester of academic year 2019 at Watkhienkhate School, PathumThani. A specific sample of 30 people. The tools used in this study It has a Item-Object Congruence Index: IOC of 3 experts with a consistency value between 0.67 and 1.00. The tools in this study were creative drama plans for 6 weeks and social awareness behavior observation form for young children which consists of 2 aspects as empathy, and respect for others. The data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation and content analysis.
The result of the study revealed that young children who have been attended creative drama activities have higher social awareness behaviors than before the experiment. Respect for others had highest average score, followed by Empathy.
