STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT FOR PREVENTING TEEN PREGNANCY AND PROBLEM SOLVING BY PARTICIPATION OF FAMILY AND COMMUNITY IN BANGKOK AREA

Abstract

This R&D and policy research aimed to: 1) to study situation and need of strategic development for preventing teen pregnancy and problem solving by participation of family and community in Bangkok area 2) to analyze the development strategy of preventing teen pregnancy and problem solving by participation of family and community in Bangkok area 3) to propose and confirm the development strategy of preventing teen pregnancy and problem solving by participation of family and community in Bangkok area. The data were collected by document analysis, in-depth of interview thirty-one professionals and stakeholders. The assessment of the appropriateness of the strategies were done by seventeen experts.

            The results of the study are as following: 1) Teen pregnancy problem in Bangkok area were increasing in term of key performance view, the main factors are from family and lack of sexual communication skill among family and community 2) From the analysis of this study the strategy proposed for strategic development area including: (1) Create positive attitude and sexual communication skill among family and community (2) Create and promote community participation and all concern (3) Create the creative space for teen in community area (4) collect and return teen pregnant date to government office and concerning party (5) Develop assistance process within community. The Policy Meeting found that stakeholders had a consensus that 5 strategy were appropriate and feasible.
