A MODEL OF SUFFICIENT COMMUNITIES THROUGH SUFFICIENCY ECONOMY BY CITIZENS IN LOMSAK DISTRICT, PHETCHABUN PROVINCE

Abstract

The qualitative study aimed to examine and to exhibit a model of sufficient communities established through the Sufficiency Economy by citizens in Lomsak district, Phetchabun Province. Fifty informants participated; those consisted of community leaders, government officers, local government politicians, academicians, and local citizens. Data was analyzed by interpreting interviews and be discussed using a descriptive writing.


 The research findings revealed as follows: 1) to the first-level communities, individuals and families as a fundamental highlight the sufficiency with its source. Family members show great moderation, which meets four basic needs, and were living at a subsistence level without being consumerism. They live consciously and carefully. They are self-reliant; also, they distribute and assist family members and others., 2) regarding the second-level communities, people mustering as groups initiated the sufficiency. Citizens in the community collaborate; so that they can share and help one another for protecting their community’s interest as well as exchanging ideas, managing, and solving problems. These would build communities’ harmony and empowerment., and 3) the third-level communities indicate the cooperation through their 


connections. The certain communities emphasized how communities coordinate with official and private sectors, which benefits all parties.


The results suggest that communities should be administrated in order to support disadvantaged and unemployed persons as well as minimizing production cost and factors. This would strengthen career potential to developing fundamental economy. In addition, the communities should promote an alternative energy and also conserve natural resources, environments, cultures, and tourism.
