Abstract

              “Semiology” is the discipline which studies the emerging process of a symbol and the meaning of that particular symbol.  It is a study of meanings, variations, including analysis of opinions of those elements conveyed by those message senders residing beyond; ways of lives, perceived images the way they are.  Performing Arts abundantly possesses these symbols that duly forwarded to their audiences. It is indeed fascinating to study those symbols appear in the ASEAN Peacock dance which symbolises peacocks as the central core for the creation of this performance. By which, peacock is commonly utilised in creations of performing pieces of the ASEAN region. Therefore, it is rather enthusiastic to search for both symbol (s) and any disguises code (s) in order to understand the meaning(s) that the creating artist(s) attempt to convey  his/her/their symbol(s) of the telling story, through this performance, to their audiences.
