Studying the Factor of Patriotism of First-Year Reserve Officer Training Corps Students

This research purpose to study the confirmatory factor analysis of patriotism of first-year reserve officer training corps students (ROTCS). The research samples were first-year ROTCS enrolled in reserve officer training corps student training center in the Veterinary and Remount Department in the 2018 academic year. The participants were included one thousand two hundred and thirty-two ROTCS. The research instruments was a patriotism for first-year ROTCS test, with item discrimination were .229 - .671 and reliability were .952 and computer programs used to analyze the confirmatory factor analysis. The results of this research revealed that the patriotism of first-year ROTCS found that there were four factors, i.e., blind patriotism, constructive patriotism, symbolic patriotism and civic patriotism, that were congruent with the empirical data. (c² = 46.957, p = .085, df = 35, c²/df = 1.342, GFI = .992, AGFI = .961, CFI = .999, SRMR = .019, RMSEA = .019) Factor loading was at .01 statistic significant level. Moreover, the results also revealed that the patriotism of first-year ROTCS test were construct validity, convergent validity, discriminant validity and construct reliability value were .763 to .866.
