The Effects of Using the Open Approach with Cartoons as Instructional Material on Students' Mathematical Problem-Solving Abilities

Abstract
This research aimed to study the effect of open approach learning management with cartoons as a learning media on the mathematics problem-solving ability of students. The sample consisted of 29 fifth-grade students in the first semester of the 2023 academic year at a school in Pattani Province, using cluster random sampling. The research instruments were nine open approach learning plans with cartoons as a learning media on decimal division, nine plans, nine hours, and a subjective mathematics problem-solving ability test. The research results found that open approach learning management with cartoons as a learning media had an efficiency of 87.61/70.32. The students had a statistical significance of .05 at the 70% level after learning to solve mathematical problems.
