Abstract

Income Generating is an activity that helps public universities to improve their quality. This study attempts to analyze the direct and indirect effects of management supervision, management participation, management qualification, and top management support on income-generating implementation. A questionnaire-based survey was conducted and collected 111 valid responses. The data were analyzed using a structural equation model (SEM). The result shows that management supervision and management participation have a positive relationship with income-generating implementation as well as its effect on top management support. The support from top management mediated the relationship between management supervision, management participation, and income-generating implementation. The top management support does not indirectly affect the relationship between management qualification and income-generating implementation. Top management should facilitate the staff to improve their ability and skill so that their staff can manage income effectively. Thus, Top Management Support has an essential role in the implementation of income-generating, especially in in the higher education level.
