Guidelines for Educational Management towards The Goals of Thailand’s National Education Standards
Main Article Content
Abstract
Educational development in Thailand in the past has been inconsistent with global changes and has not been able to keep pace with the rapid economic, social, political, educational, and cultural changes in the era of globalization. For this reason, the Education Council Secretariat has prepared the 2018 National Education Standards to define the desirable characteristics of the Thai people and use them as a framework for creating the Thai People 4.0 of educational institutions in the local context and educational institutions with a focus on developing learners into learners, innovators, and active citizens. To develop learners to have these characteristics, therefore educational institutions need to adapt their approaches to educational management, or the factors that contribute to the achievement of the overall goals. These consist of adjusting the management of institutional administrators/leaders, adjusting the teaching roles of teachers/instructors, developing teaching-learning courses, using media technology in teaching, and learning management, and establishing educational management policies in accordance with the outcomes of each age group. Factors that influence the success of educational management in meeting national standard goals include managers/leaders, educational staff, communication and transfer of operational policies, staff involvement and accountability, creating an organizational culture, and assignment of driving tasks links to proper practice.
