Abstract

Professional Learning Community (PLC) and Action Research have the same goal to develop learners' learning. The two concepts differ only in techniques, methods and approaches. The PLC focuses on relationships in the organization while research focuses on solving learners' problems through a participatory process. Lesson study is one of the PLC processes or classroom action research. The authors compared the similarities and differences of the two concepts, combines the two processes and presents the six steps of building a learning community of classroom research: 1) Team building, 2) Problem-solving, and 3) Learning management design. 4) Classroom observation, 5) Data analysis, reflection, and 6) Rreporting of results to lead to student development and sustainable organization.
