Factors Affecting 21st Century Skills of Students in Schools under the Ratchaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 1

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) examine the level of factors affecting students' 21st century skills, 2) examine the level of students' 21st century skills, and 3) analyze the factors affecting 21st century skills of students in schools under the Ratchaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. The sample consisted of 433 participants, comprising 113 school administrators and 320 teachers. The research instrument was a five-point rating-scale questionnaire, with a content validity index ranging from 0.80 to 1.00 and a reliability coefficient of 0.95. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The findings were as follows. First, the overall level of factors affecting 21st century skills ranged from high to highest. Teacher-related factors, administrators' leadership, and environmental factors were rated at the highest level, while technological media and student-related factors were rated at a high level. Second, students' overall level of 21st century skills was rated at a high level. Third, three factors—student-related factors, technological media, and teacher-related factors—significantly predicted students' 21st century skills, jointly accounting for 69.20% of the variance (R² = .692). These findings suggest that enhancing teacher quality, technological media integration, and student-centered support may be particularly effective strategies for strengthening 21st century skills among students, and highlight the importance of coordinated efforts among teachers, administrators, and the broader learning environment.
