CONSERVATION OF KHIONG KAYANG WATERSHED FOREST BY BAN NONG KONG NUEA COMMUNITY, NA BO KHAM SUBDISTRICT, MUEANG DISTRICT, KAMPHAENG PHET

Abstract

           This article is part of a research paper titled “Conservation of Khlong Khayang Upstream Forest by Ban Nong Kong Nuea Community, Na Bo Kham Sub-district, Mueang District, Kamphaeng Phet Province The objectives were: 1) to study the conservation methods of Khlong Khayang watershed forest; 2) to study the effect of Klong Khayang watershed forest conservation. The sample population was 1,933 people, 39 key informants consisted of executives. Local council members, village headmen, village peace and order Community religious ceremonies and farmers in Ban Nong Kong Nuea which is a participatory practice research model (Participatory Action Research: PAR).

           1) Villagers in Ban Nong Kong Nuea community have a way of life that is bound to nature, dependent on each other in terms of occupation and livelihood. The villagers in the community understand the conservation of Khlong Khayang upstream forest. People pay great attention and realize the importance of watershed forests.

           2) Construction of check dams that are necessary and appropriate to the needs of the villagers in the community There was a public research, a referendum was made, based on the importance of inviting experts and experts to participate in planning appropriate operations, having materials, and having sufficient budgets arising from donations. and are ready to provide materials and equipment that are conducive to the operation and learn together and begin to adjust for appropriateness

           3) Villagers are aware of the importance of natural resources. until the consciousness of cherishing and preserving resources in the community There is a sense of pride and the feeling of being a part and belonging together. and close relationships in the community
