The challenges of Thailand’s public healthcare system during COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

The spread of COVID-19 pandemic causes a huge number of losses and damages for many countries around the world. Similarly, the terrible situation occurs in Thailand, as indicated by the number of infected people and fatality are now increasing every day. This pandemic causes the Thai’s public healthcare system failed because of the doctor, medical supplies, and vaccines are limited. Even though, the Royal Thai government tried to create a new set of measure to protect the severity of pandemics but still unsuccessful and insufficient to stop the outbreak of virus. Thus, the urgent issue that Thai government and stakeholders must considering is to procure the high effective vaccine for every people in the country and purchasing sufficient medical supply. Moreover, the collaboration from all sectors is also important to solve the problem together by making the decision and implementing actions plan with carefully and clear of information dissemination. This action can increase the government’s trust from citizens and other countries. This research suggested that, during the difficulty time of pandemic, the Thailand’s public healthcare system has been challenged for better improvement and development in more effective.
