The Professional Learning Community for low students achievement development in COVID-19 predicament of Mahasarakham University Demonstration School (secondary)

Abstract

The study of the professional learning community (PLC) to develop low-achieving students in the situation of the epidemic of COVID- 19, Mahasarakham University Demonstration School (Secondary) aims to improve the academic achievement of low-achieving students with the PLC process and develop learning activities or supplementary activities in onsite and online. The sample was 97 students in Mathayomsuksa 1-6 with an average GPAX grade of less than 2.00 selected by purposive sampling. The developing learning activities both on-site and online using Platform Microsoft team system. The result found that 80 students, or 82.47 percent, had a higher average GPAX grade after participating in the program, and 17 students or 17.53% with lower grades were found. The comparative analysis results of the mean GPAX grade of students at all grade levels before and after participating in the project using Paired t-test statistics found that the students in Mathayomsuksa 1, 2, 3, and Mathayom 4 have an average  GPAX grade after participating in the program higher than before participating in the program at the .05 level, The students at Mathayom 5 and Mathayom 6 students had an average of GPAX  grade ,there was no statistical difference at the .05 level. The comparative analysis the average GPAX grade point average of students at all grade levels before and after participating in the program found that the average GPAX grade participating in the program was higher than before participating in the program statistically significant at  .05 level.
