ANALYSIS OF THE REQUIRED COMPETENCY COMPONENTS OF A FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM INSPECTOR

Abstract

This academic article aims to analysis the required competency components of fire protection system inspectors by integratedly analyzing principles, concepts, theories and researches related to competency contexts. The results showed that Fire can cause enormous loss of life and property, the impact on the environment and also the image safety in life and property of the establishment in the eyes of the common people Many agencies in Thailand still have a worrisome level of fire risk, although there are some measures to suppress the fire, but one of the key factors is prevention with guidelines for bringing professional standards as part of enforcement Therefore, it is likely to resolve the issue in detail to allow the law to be more effective. As for the profession of fire protection system in Thailand, there is no professional fire protection system directly. In addition to building inspectors, there is a team that inspects the fire protection system. Therefore, the fire protection system inspector means a person who has expertise in inspecting the building condition can analyze the causes that lead to the occurrence of unsafe for life body and property due to the condition of the building and its accessories including an administrative management system to prevent fires with the main objective of reducing the likelihood of or damage that may be caused by fire which affects both life and property which must be prepared to cover the risks since the pre-fire plan during fire until after the fire. As for the required performance components of a fire protection system auditor, there are four required performance components: 1) Hard skills Building Fire Inspector (H-BFI) 2) Knowledge Building Fire Inspector (K-BFI) 3) Communication skills Building Fire Inspector (S-BFI)  4) Professional Ethics Building Fire Inspector (A-BFI) which should be developed the process of enhancing such competency will be provide to the Fire inspectors further.
