MORAL COMMUNITIES: A MODEL FOR SOLVING SUSTAINABLE SOCIAL PROBLEMS: A CASE STUDY RATCHASAP COMMUNITY, BANG SUE SUBDISTRICT, BANG SUE DISTRICT, BANGKOK

This research objectives consisted of: 1) to study the history and problems and obstacles of the model moral community, Bang Sue Subdistrict, Bang Sue District, Bangkok, 2) to study the problem-solving process and model community development, Bang Sue Sub-district, Bang Sue District, Bangkok, and 3) to analyze the components of problem solving and indicators. Measuring the success of the model community, Bang Sue Subdistrict, Bang Sue District, Bangkok. Qualitative research method was carried out in this study. Data was collected by in-depth interviews with informants who are community administrators and those involved. The tool used in the research was in-depth interviews and content analysis technique was used for data analysis.
The results showed that:
- The history and problems and obstacles of the moral community model, Bang Sue Subdistrict, Bang Sue District, Bangkok revealed that in the past 60 years ago, it was an orchard planted with fruit such as bananas, coconuts, and neem. There was no bridge. There was no outside trading in the community. They relied on water traffic After having a concrete road in Choi Ratchasap resulting in rapid growth in the community from making a living by gardening. People in the community began to work outside the area, live the urban lifestyle. There were many houses There were many immigrants to live and in 2008 the community asked for an official establishment from Bang Sue District Office to be called "Ratchap Community"
- The problem solving process and model community development in Bang Sue Subdistrict, Bang Sue District, Bangkok indicated that comprehensive work in all aspects with guidelines for the development and operation of the community with a direction based on the vision that meets the community needs and it could solve problems that the community has jointly thought, set guidelines for community development activities by adhering to the principle of self-reliance, reducing external dependence by considering the resource potential, wisdom, way of life, culture and environment in the community. They took the problems and needs of people in the community from the community forum to create plans/projects. There was a model community management. It was an outstanding community in systematic administration, together with a leader being accepted by the community. Members have the same goal. There was a strong joint development network. The community plans together with the network in preparing the community plan. Problems were analyzed and prioritized. There was creating a network that can negotiate well with the community, allowing to solve various problems in the community successfully and with the power of people in the community who are united and participate in receiving news collaborate in thinking and expressing opinions, decision-making, action, evaluation.
- The components of problem solving and indicators of success of the model community, Bang Sue Subdistrict, Bang Sue District, Bangkok revealed that there was good education, good policies, good leaders, good supports by government. There was technology, joint activities, a community culture. They could join, think together, do, and jointly solve problems on their own. The government is only a consultant to advise on the work only. People could analyze the problems and needs of the community to lead to solutions in both local and holistic contexts in the community. It was a joint management of lifelong education for the community, resulting people in community to live happily in society.
