GUIDELINES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ECOTOURISM IN THE BAN THA KHAM COMMUNITY, HAT YAI DISTRICT, SONGKHLA PROVINCE

Abstract

                      The objective of this research is to study the social landscape of conservation tourism. Problems and impacts of tourism in the Ban Tha Kham community and to study guidelines for the development of ecotourism in the Ban Tha Kham community, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. The population and research sample consisted of the group executive committee. Local scholars, community leaders, entrepreneurs, and tourists totaling 14 people using a purposive sampling method. Tools used in the research include interviews, focus groups. By content analysis (Content analysis)

                     The results of the research can be summarized as follows: 1. Social landscape of ecotourism management in Ban Tha Kham community. There are no problems or impacts on ecotourism management because the Tha Kham community has a long history and development. The general condition of the community currently has the status of a community on the outskirts of Songkhla and Hat Yai. It is about 21 kilometers away from the two major cities. The location and territory consists of 8 villages, 90 percent are Buddhists, 10 percent are Muslims. There are 6 temples and monasteries, 1 mosque, 4 schools. Most of the area is engaged in agriculture, rubber plantations, and has sources. Tourism of various communities community way of life It is a Songkhla Lake Basin society and accepts the culture of Buddhism as the root of all cultures. It has the effect of molding religious people to have values. Many world views and traditions. 2. Guidelines for developing ecotourism in the Ban Tha Kham community. There is the main driving force and development of the Tha Kham Subdistrict Administrative Organization. and gradually expand it to community members who have the potential to develop tourism in their own communities. Expand the scope of tourism to all communities. Thakham community is well prepared for lifestyle tourism. traditional culture There should be development of tourism that is community lifestyle tourism. Tourism is the development of wisdom. traditional culture and the development of unique community products including creating other innovations in the community to attract tourists
