Abstract

This academic article studies the reintegration of repeat offenders with community cooperation. It includes the situation of repeat offenders in Thailand, types of measures to support the reintegration of repeat offenders, community participation in implementing measures, case studies of community participation in Thailand and abroad as good practices, and legal measures related to the reintegration of repeat offenders with community cooperation. The study of related documents was used as basic information for presenting the specified issues.

The study results found that from the statistical data, it was found that prisoners reoffended within 1-3 years from the date of release. In principle, measures to support the reintegration of repeat offenders can be divided into measures that occur while repeat offenders are in prison and measures that occur while repeat offenders are not in prison. The community can play an important role in helping repeat offenders reintegrate into society effectively in various ways. Communities in Thailand that play a role in this matter include the Ban Phra Phon Foundation, Webpage Okat, and Baan Klang Wit Pula Rayo Kalatapae. In other countries, they include the Yellow Ribbon Project in Singapore and the Circles of Support and Accountability (Circles) Project in the United Kingdom. In addition, each country has enforced legal measures that support the community to participate in helping repeat offenders reintegrate into society.
