The Acceptance and Intention to Use Technology of Local Government Staff, Amnat Charoen Municipal, Amnat Charoen Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to examine the relationship between technology acceptance and the intention to use technology, and 2) to propose guidelines for enhancing work efficiency through technology adoption. The research design was quantitative research. The sample consisted of 288 municipal staff members, selected through random sampling. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis.

The research findings revealed that: 1) Technology acceptance and the intention to use technology were positively correlated at a statistically significant level of 0.01. The correlation coefficient of 0.69 indicates a moderate positive relationship. Regarding the components of technology acceptance, data quality, perceived convenience, perceived usefulness, system quality, computer literacy, and computer anxiety were significantly correlated with the intention to use technology, with r values of 0.67, 0.66, 0.65, 0.59, 0.56, and 0.26, respectively. Furthermore, multiple regression analysis demonstrated that data quality, perceived convenience, perceived usefulness, and system quality significantly predicted the intention to use technology. In contrast, computer anxiety and computer literacy did not significantly influence the intention to use technology. 2) To enhance operational efficiency, municipal executives should prioritize the development of data quality, system reliability, perceived usefulness, and convenience. Specifically, fostering technological awareness among staff in alignment with digital advancements and ensuring system stability are crucial for building user confidence and sustainable adoption.
