Abstract

This article analyzes the integration of Buddhist wisdom, particularly the principle of Yoniso-manasikara (wise reflection), with the context of artificial intelligence use in a digital society. The aim is to synthesize a conceptual framework for self-development and building intellectual resilience. The core message is not about rejecting technology, but about elevating human thinking processes to enable the critical management of AI use. The ten methods of Yoniso-manasikara serve as tools for analyzing causal factors, fostering awareness of both information and one's own biases. Key findings include: (1) effective self-development begins with mastering one's thoughts, reducing emotional and algorithmic influence; (2) the Cognitive Pause mechanism is a crucial turning point that shifts information reception from immediate response to in-depth consideration; (3) AI literacy requires both empirical observation and critical thinking; and (4) the ethical dimension, especially the principle of Know Why, is a decisive factor in using technology for the common good. Therefore, Buddhist wisdom functions more as a framework for regulating technology use than merely as a knowledge-enhancing tool, enabling humans to maintain a balance between technological advancement and mental stability, leading to responsible and sustainable AI use.
