Community’s Participation in The World Heritage Managment of Historical Park Ayutthaya Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research paper are: 1) to study the participation of communities in the management of World Heritage historical parks. Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province 2) to study and compare people's opinion level on community participation in the management of the World Heritage Historical Park. Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province and 3) to study the problem Obstacles and Recommendations on Community Participation in the Management of World Heritage Site. Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Historical Park The research was a mixed method. both qualitative research and qualitative research by using in-depth interview with key informants. The number of sample 368 people analyzed the data by percentage. Find the mean and standard deviation. One-way analysis of variance and comparison. The research results are as follows:

1. Community participation in the management of the world heritage site Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya Province. in the overall picture. was at a high level with an average of = 3.54 when considering each item. it was found that he had participated in the restoration / maintenance / weeding / barrier / and safety In the historical park at the highest level. When considering each item. it was found that he participated in being a committee in publishing and organizing activities in various aspects of resource management at a moderate level. When considering each item. it was found that he had planned to solve problems caused by various threats that would occur in the historical park at the highest level.
2. The results of the comparison of the level of public opinion about community participation in the management of the previously mentioned area. found that the overall picture was at a high level with an average of = 3.52. In the highest level with average = 3.65
3. Problems. obstacles and suggestions about community participation in the management of the world heritage site. Ayutthaya historical park area. The community did not participate. Relevant agencies should allow the community to fully participate in the area management. Protection The community has participated in managing the area protection. Should have a meeting between communities and related agencies to understand this clearly relevant agency should allow the community to fully participate in this area.
