Social Impact and Adaptation with Social Support of Communities during COVID-19 Pandemic Situation in Thailand

This research aimed to study the social impact and adaptation of people in the community in the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in the context of Thai society. Data were collected using questionnaires on a sample of 31,394 people and in-depth interviews with 10-20 key informants in all provinces across the country. The study found the COVID-19 pandemic has had a negative impact on family relationships, being shunned by others anxiety about life activities and relationships of people in the community. Simultaneously, it revealed family members and people in the community shared and helped each other more. The research proposed appropriate measures to help vulnerable groups, reducing stigma and building a correct understanding of the COVID-19 pandemic, and empowering people in the community to prevent and correct the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
