SOCIAL CAPITAL AND THE STRENGTHENING OF LOCAL COMMUNITIES: A CASE STUDY OF RENU VILLAGE, VILLAGE 2, RENU SUB-DISTRICT, RENU NAKHON DISTRICT, NAKHON PHANOM PROVINCE

Abstract

This objective of this study is consisted of : 1. to study the history and way of life of Phu Thai community, Renu Nakhon district, Nakhon Phanom Province; 2. to study the process and methods of social capital management and the strengthening of Phu Thai community, Renu Nakhon district, Nakhon Phanom province; and 3. to study the problems and obstacles of the process and methods of social capital management and the strengthening of Phu Thai communities, Renu Nakhon district, Nakhon Phanom province. This research is a qualitative research. Data was collected by in-depth interviews with informants who are local administrators and related persons The tools used in the research were in-depth interviews and content analysis

The results of the research found that

1. History and way of life of the Phu Thai Community, Renu Nakhon District, Nakhon Phanom Province It is the largest ethnic group after the Thai Lao people. Most of them live in the Northeast. The Mekong River separates this group from Phu Tai in northern Laos and Vietnam. Respect Buddhism and worship ghosts according to ancestors. The Phu Thai people live like a big family in the same house. It is a group of hardworking, thrifty workers who can work in many occupations such as farming, farming, cattle trading, buffalo trading, bringing carts carrying goods to sell abroad called "Nai Hoy". The Phu Tai tribe is a group that develops faster than the Phu Tai tribe. another have understanding and strength in government Has a beautiful face, good skin, and good manners. They are hospitable in welcoming foreign guests until they are mentioned.
2. Process and methods of social capital management and strengthening of Phu Thai community, Renu Nakhon district, Nakhon Phanom province. There are 24 working groups, but the ones that stand out and solve concrete problems for the community are: community shop activities Community learning center activities and the elderly and activities at the village council meeting.
3. Problems and obstacles of the process and methods of social capital management and building strength of the Phu Thai community, Renu Nakhon District, Nakhon Phanom Province found in the community were the problems of outsiders becoming part of the community; The problem of encroachment on agricultural land and the problem of the new generation turning to other occupations The community has resolved by promoting the arts and culture of the community to be strong. Emphasize on the new generation to participate. as well as distributing various activities for the new generation to manage such as managing natural resources Let the new generation be the leader in management. group activities that allows the new generation to develop better products, etc.
