THE DEVELOPMENT MODEL FOR PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF DENGUE FEVER BY COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN MUEANG SUKHOTHAI DISTRICT SUKHOTHAI PROVINCE.

Abstract

This study research and development (R&D) with the objective of developing a model for the operation, prevention and control of dengue fever by the participation of the public sector in Mueang Sukhothai District, Sukhothai Province. The sample group consisted of 327 village health volunteers and community leaders in Mueang Sukhothai District, Sukhothai Province. The research data was collected using a questionnaire with a Cronbach's coefficient alpha of 0.85. The data were analyzed using statistics, percentages, means, standard deviations, focus group discussions, and the creation of an operation model. The results of the study found that knowledge about dengue fever in terms of causes was 91 percent, prevention and control was 88 percent, symptoms was 78 percent, and causes was 75 percent. The 1-1-5 dengue fever control measures were developed, with the first step being to spray a can of spray to eliminate adult mosquitoes immediately within 1 day, and the second step was to inform village health volunteers and to inform public health officials. Check the facts about the illness in 1 day and 5 is to apply mosquito repellent lotion to the patient and the person living in the same house as the patient for 5 days by operating in conjunction with the measures to control and prevent dengue fever of Sukhothai Province and from the results of using the model, it was found that the number of dengue fever patients decreased from 23 in March to 12 in April, which is a decrease of 48 percent. There are suggestions from the research. The obtained data should be used to develop other research and be a guideline for the operation to control and prevent dengue fever in Mueang Sukhothai District. Sukhothai Province should study more to cover the attitudes of the target group that operates to control and prevent dengue fever.
