THE DEVELOPMENT OF ACTIVE LEARNING ACTIVITY PACKGAGE TO PROMOTE CRITICAL THINKING AND COMMUNICATION CREATIVE COMPETENCIES FOR FIRST-YEAR TEACHER STUDENT FACULTY OF EDUCATION RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY NAHHON SI THAMMARAT

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to develop active learning activity sets to enhance critical thinking competency and creative communication for first-year teacher students, to determine the efficiency of the developed active learning activity sets, and to study student satisfaction towards the activity sets. This study employed a mixed-method research design using research and development methodology. The sample consisted of 30 first-year students from the Bachelor of Education program at the Faculty of Education, Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, selected through cluster random sampling using class groups as sampling units. Research instruments included interview forms, observation records, and focus group discussion records. Data were collected through questionnaires, focus group discussions, expert evaluation forms for activity sets, assessment forms for critical thinking and creative communication competencies, and satisfaction questionnaires. Statistics used included mean and standard deviation, with data analyzed using E1/E2 efficiency criteria. The research findings showed that the active learning activity sets for enhancing critical thinking competency and creative communication for first-year teacher students consisted of 3 sub-sets, with overall quality at the highest level. The activity sets achieved the efficiency criteria of E1/E2 at 75/75 percent, and student satisfaction towards the activity sets was at the highest level. The active learning activity sets were found to effectively support teaching and learning.
