Abstract
Digital politics is a result of the development of information and communication technology, which has impacted power structures, governance mechanisms, and the relationship between the state and the public. This study focuses on the impact of digital technology on politics and democracy by providing opportunities for citizens to easily and quickly access political information through online platforms. This helps to enhance the right to free expression and public participation. Digital technology reduces state control and promotes freedom of access to information and expression. It also serves as a key tool for election campaigning and political networking. However, the distortion of information and state control can lead to the manipulation or suppression of public opinion through data censorship or the dissemination of false information. Effective regulation and the development of laws to protect digital civil rights are essential for ensuring transparency and preventing rights violations through technology. Regulating online platforms and promoting media literacy will help reduce the impact of distorted information. Furthermore, the government, private sector, and civil society must collaborate to promote freedom and reduce the information gap. Enhancing digital literacy among the public is a critical approach to enable citizens to distinguish between accurate and misleading information. Responsible use of technology and appropriate regulation will ensure that digital politics can contribute to the promotion of democracy and social justice sustainably. Developing digital technology as a fully beneficial tool will help foster a more transparent and efficient governance system.
