The Wisdom of Planting and Processing of Haew-Na, A Case Study of Nong Kula community Area, Bang Rakam District, Phitsanulok Province

Abstract

This article aimed (1) to study wisdom of planting and processing of Haew-Na, and (2) to study utilizing rice Haew-Na flour to create additional economic value with local wisdom Nong Kula Community Area, Bang Rakam District, Phitsanulok Province. This research was based on documents and from community leaders, Local philosopher and farmer's housewives group of Ban Nong Kula, totaling 15 people by selecting a specific sample. The research instruments were interviewed and focus group and use descriptive analysis. The result of the study found that The Planting Haew-Na in the Nong Kula community uses a simple planting method according to traditional local wisdom. The important steps are preparing the soil and planting seedlings, Maintenance and digging of Haew-Na. For the making of Haew-Na flour in the Nong Kula community, it is produced at the household level using local wisdom passed down from ancestors. The important steps are washing, extracting the flour, and drying in the sun. And Field Haew-Na flour can be used to create additional economic value for the Nong Kula community in many ways, namely by selling Haew-Na flour. Processing Haew-Na flour into noodles Making Haew-Na jelly dessert. The research team and the group of farmer's housewives at Ban Nong Kula came together to think. Together they experimented with processing field Haew-Na flour into pumpkin field Haew-Na crackers that were crisp, fragrant, and delicious and designed the said product mark.
