Buddhamma Application to Promote The Role of Local Administrators in Community Development of Pa Kha Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Tha Wang Pha District of Nan Province

Abstract

This research article aims to (1) study the level of local executive roles in community development, (2) examine the factors affecting the roles of local executives in community development, and (3) present the application of Buddhist principles to enhance the roles of local executives in community development within the Pa Kha Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Tha Wang Pha District, Nan Province. This study employs a mixed-methods research approach as follows: (1) For the quantitative research, a survey was conducted with a sample of 365 participants. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. (2) For the qualitative research, in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 key informants, and the data were analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings revealed that: 1) The overall level of local executive roles is high, and the Saraniyadhamma related to these roles is also at a high level; 2) Factors influencing the roles of local executives in community development within the Pa Kha Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Tha Wang Pha District, Nan Province, indicate that Saraniyadhamma significantly influences their roles; and 3) The application of Buddhist principles to enhance the roles of local executives includes: (1) listening to problems and seeking collaborative solutions, (2) communicating politely and encouraging community members, (3) taking a systematic approach to community development, (4) promoting comprehensive and equitable development, (5) working within a shared regulatory framework, and (6) providing opportunities for citizen and agency participation in all dimensions.
