Civilian Control of the Military in Thailand’s Legal System

The article studied a civilian control of the military both in theory and a concept formation perspectives. In this way, the study examined the civilian control of the military in Thailand's legal system in order to identify the contradictions of a civil-military relations in Thailand with selected theory and concept. The study applied methodologies of a document review, a law comparative particularly a constitutional law of 2017 Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand with various constitutions, and legal analysis, respectively. The study revealed that the civil-military relation in a legal system of Thailand does not comply with either theory and the concept formation of civilian control of the military. Therefore, the article proposes to revise and amend the 2017 Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand and related laws regarding such theory and a concept formation.
