Abstract

          The purpose of this research were: 1) to study the participation of Buddhists in the conservation of Buddhist archaeological sites; 2) to study the participation of Buddhists in the conservation of Buddhist archaeological sites in Sa Kaeo Province; and 3) to propose guidelines for Buddhist participation. in the conservation of Buddhist archaeological sites in Sa Kaeo Province the researcher has defined research areas in 4 districts, namely (1) Ta Phraya District, (2) Watthana Nakhon District, (3) Khok Sung District, and (4) Aranyaprathet District. This includes documentary studies, interviews, group discussions. It has a total population of 30 people/person.
          The research result found that:
          1. The condition of problems concerning participation of Buddhists in the preservation of Buddhist archaeological sites. Found that, 1) Personal problems, decision making, not participating in various activities, lack of faith Lack of improvement or coordination in activities. 2) Problems in human resources, individual, self-centered, lack of faith. 3) Problems in community, unity, lack of unity. lack of connection between community leaders and relevant agencies; and 4) social problems. non-participation did not participate in the activity no education.
          2. The participation of Buddhists in the preservation of Buddhist archaeological sites in Sa Kaeo Province. Found that, 1) Individual level participation, thinking, expressing opinions participation do villagers attending the event Participation in restoration practices and participation in decision making Attending meetings 2) Group level on the collective side, the idea is to participate in the discussion of joint action. participatory practice participate in common practice and participation in decision making. 3) Participate at the community level. Participation is an opportunity for all sectors to come together. Participation helps to provide information. Participation in practice gives people the opportunity to participate in their work. and participation in decision making, and 4) social level, participation in thinking, having information, knowledge, and opinions that are true. Participation in action to provide support for resources, services and participation in decision-making is to develop a strategic plan for the conservation of archaeological sites.
          3. There are four approaches for Buddhist participation in the conservation of Buddhist archaeological sites in Sa Kaeo Province. There are four approaches: 1) Personnel, knowledge training for individuals to understand and have the ability to transmit consciousness building and participation in building faith Individuals have faith and love to participate. 2) Group aspects. having a learning group can have mutual understanding knowledge transfer rehabilitation treatment and unity this is to enhance participation in the preservation of ancient monuments. building new knowledge is a knowledge gathering creating a culture of participation and building readiness in the community; and 4) social aspect, creating network partners. mutual cooperation network agreement mutual benefit unity and network development participation of members in the network and can create prosperity in society.
