The Development of Inquiry-based Learning Package (5E) to Increase Learning Achievement in Biology on the Topic of Structure and Growth of Flowering Plants for Matthayomsuksa 5 Students

Abstract

            The purpose of this research were: 1) to develop an inquiry-based learning package (5E) in biology on the topic of structure and growth of flowering plants for Matthayomsuksa 5 students, 2) to comparethe Matthayomsuksa 5 students' learning achievement before and after learning using the inquiry-based learning package (5E) and 3) to study the 32 Matthayomsuksa 5 students' satisfaction towards the inquiry-based learning package (5E). A simple random sampling technique was used to select the research sample. Theses research instruments were the inquiry-based learning package (5E) in biology on the topic of structure and growth of flowering plants for Matthayomsuksa 5 students, a learning achievement test on the topic of structure and growth of flowering plants, and a questionnaire about students’ satisfaction towards the inquiry-based learning package (5E). The statistics used for data analysis were mean, standard deviation (S.D), and t-test dependent.
             The research result found that:
             1. The findings revealed that the efficiency of the inquiry-based learning package (5E) was 81.92/83.33 which was higher than the efficiency criteria of 80/80 as determined.
             2. The students' post-test learning achievement scores were higher than their pre-test scores, statistically significant at 0.05.
             3. The students were satisfied with the inquiry-based learning package (5E) at the highest level.
