Academic Management Strategies of School Administrators of Watchongnonsee School under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration

Abstract

             The purpose of this research were: to 1) study the level of academic management strategies employed by the administrators of Watchongnonsee School under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and 2) propose ways to develop these strategies. The population for this research comprised 1) school administrators, 2) assistant directors of the educational institution, 3) teaching staff, and 4) other school personnel for the academic year 2023, totaling 51 individuals. 5 key informants. The research tools employed were questionnaires and interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, while qualitative data were analyzed through content analysis.
             The research results found that:
             1. The level of academic management strategies employed by the administrators of Watchongnonsee School, Bangkok, was overall high. When considering individual aspects, the highest mean score was found in the area of instructional supervision, followed by other areas with high scores including curriculum development, assessment and evaluation, and learning process development,  in that order. The lowest mean score was in the development of innovative media.
             2. The proposed strategies for developing academic management at Watchongnonsee School involve five aspects: 1) In learning process development, management personnel must hold a meeting to develop a learning plan that aligns with the school's objectives. 2) For assessment and evaluation, administrators should plan yearly student assessments and develop modern, diverse evaluation tools. 3) In curriculum development, administrators cooperate with all departments to set the direction of the school curriculum to be consistent with the context of the school. 4) For the development of innovative media, administrators should train teachers in producing modern media that meets educational objectives. 5) In instructional supervision, administrators should offer realistic guidance and support to teachers, collaborating to solve problems and enhance the learning process.
