Community Leaders and Participation in the Prevention of Drug-Related Problems in Saraburi Province : A Case Study

The objectives of this research were to study the level of participation of community leaders in Saraburi Province in addressing drug-related issues and the factors influencing their participation in the drug prevention effort. This study employed a quantitative research approach. Data were gathered from 120 community leaders residing in Saraburi Province. The descriptive statistics, t-test and F-test were used for data analysis, hypothesis testing. The correlation was employed to test the correlation between the two groups of variables. The findings revealed a high level of participation among community leaders in Saraburi province in all four key aspects including participation in decision-making, activity implementation, benefit reception, follow-up and evaluation. The influence of leaders’ readiness, perception, and capability on the participation was at high level in all aspects. In addition, the study showed positive correlation between the community leaders’ readiness, perception, and capability and their active participation in preventing drug-related issues, with statistically significant level 0.01.
