The development of the thought creation model (TCMOE) using multimedia entitled “ourselves and surrounding matters,” under the learning area of health and physical education, the second year of the primary education level

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of the Thought-Creative Model of Education (TCMOE) using multimedia entitled “Ourselves and Surrounding Matters” for Grade 2 students in the Health and Physical Education learning area, to compare students’ achievement before and after instruction, and to examine student satisfaction. The participants were 18 Grade 2/3 students from Municipal Demonstration School 9, Lopburi Municipality, selected through purposive sampling. The intervention was implemented over 22 hours during the first semester of the 2024 academic year. Research instruments included the TCMOE multimedia package, lesson plans, an achievement test, and a satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed using efficiency indices (E1/E2), descriptive statistics and a dependent-samples t-test. The results showed that the TCMOE comprised principles, objectives, instructional processes, and assessment, and followed a five-step creative collaborative process: Thought Provoking, Create Together, Merge Knowledge, Offer Information, and Evaluate Learning Outcomes. The model achieved an efficiency score of 83.97/86.11, exceeding the 80/80 criterion. Post-test scores were significantly higher than pre-test scores at the .05 level and student satisfaction was high (mean = 4.19).
