Abstract

This study aimed to examine the quality of work life, organizational commitment, and work performance of support staff at private higher education institutions in Thailand, and to analyze the effects of quality of work life and organizational commitment on work performance. The sample comprised 400 support staff from 63 private higher education institutions. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression. The findings showed high overall levels of quality of work life, organizational commitment, and work performance. Among the dimensions of quality of work life, a safe and healthy working environment had the highest mean score. Normative commitment showed the highest mean among the dimensions of organizational commitment, while expenditure had the highest mean score for work performance. Multiple regression analysis indicated that quality of work life and organizational commitment positively influenced work performance. In particular, work–life balance and personal rights within the organization were the most significant predictors of work performance at the 0.01 level.
