Walailak University Students’ Readiness for an English Proficiency Test

Abstract
The objectives of this research were to study the readiness levels among Walailak University students for an English proficiency test. Investigation was placed on individual factors which affected readiness for an English proficiency test and the marketing mix perceptions and motive correlated with readiness for an English proficiency test. The research instrument used was a questionnaire resulting in 400 usable responses.
The findings indicated that the overall readiness for English proficiency test was at medium level. Walailak University students, categorized by English proficiency testing experience, had a different average of readiness for an English proficiency test, statistically significant at 0.05. In addition, the correlation results showed that marketing mix perceptions and motive correlated with readiness for an English proficiency test of Walailak University students was in the same direction at 0.01 level of statistical significance.
